Having got one at a local VZW store last week and having my account charged the $199 Verizon's getting, I called customer service last night and sure enough, VERIZON matched it with a service credit.
Seems like Verizon is interested in keeping customers after all.
Even if your within 30 days, they should but may try to scum you.
Good for you, its nice to get those credits, more money for more gear, wooo hoo !
16 to 32
Thanks in advance.

Galaxy S3 Red?
excessive heat to the battery
GPS Symbol staying on
I have a Verizon 32 gig white Galaxy S3 and I absolutely love it. The only thing in question is my GPS Symbol in the top left hand corner of my notification screen will sometimes constantly stay on for a while without automatically turning itself off (switching back to the regular target looking symbol). It doesn't seem as though this is draining my battery exponentially, however it is weird/annoying. It happens every so often. What I have done so far to try and remedy the problem is go into settings, application manager, all applications, and disabled all of the factory stock Samsung framework applications and Kias/Samsung cloud syncing apps. At first, I thought that had fixed the issue, but then the same thing happened this...

An annoying drawback of this phone (true for all carriers)
My HTC phones and Motorola phones had one. Even my year old Samsung Droid has one.
On the Galaxy S III (like the Galaxy S II) they require a dongle to convert Micro USB, and then you need a special one so that you can power the phone because you used the port. Even more annoying is that the part is expensive, and they changed it for this particular model, so none of the ones that worked with the other Galaxy phones work on this one.
Even the dock lacks an HDMI port. I guess if you want to compete with Apple you have to constantly require new proprietary dongles to make you stuff work with industry standard cables like Apple does. Perhaps the Galaxy S IV will h...

samsung galaxy s3 out of service issue
Why does Samsung need to provide a "different" phone for their customers.

Verizon called me to apologize for the bad info on the phone!
Verizon called me to clear things up and apologize for the bad information regarding the brightness issue and is overnighting me a new Samsung Galaxy S3 and keeping in place my unlimited data plan.
The review that I posted was due to Verizon's and Samsung's tech departments NOT-KNOWING their phone and the local Verizon tech not looking through the settings properly to find the 'fix' that's there all along.
Now that this is done, hope everyone, including me, enjoys their G-S3!
When will GSM be enabled and what about 3G data?
What difference does it make?
AFAIK, flashing any ROM voids the manufacturer's warranty regardless of the bootloader being locked or not.
Anyone who would benefit from this developer device can probably hack their way around the GSIII's locked bootloader anyway.

!!!...Got Mine...!!!
Initial impressions are very positive...
But there are many new twists here... and it will take a while to put it all in perspective...
Put in the cute "sim" card, my 32GB SD card, the battery, and then completed the online activation routine at VZW... Then fired it up... and it was OTA activated and ready to go in about a minute...
Complete review in a couple of weeks... after a complete "shakedown" and testing...
Later... ~TMBS~
