KitKat / 4.4.2

Am having lots of problems obtaining an LTE signal on 4.1. Battery life also drains very quickly to 1%, then stays at 1% for up to a couple hours. Anyone know if and when this device is slated to receive KitKat?
Still waiting on the KitKAt update. ☹️
But in the meantime you MUST do the Battery MOD for your Atrix HD. I install an EB40 battery from the RAZR MAXX. It'll give you 3-4 times longer battery life. Depending how much you use the phone.

If this is the rumor Motorola/Google X Phone.

I would buy this phone if:

1) It had a removable battery

2) It kept the Kevlar backing (more for personal reason)

3) Especially if it got regular updates, especially since its rumored to be stock updates (Nexus-like), I'd take a month delay simply because that would be better than what is happening now
IT's a basic phone

It almost certainly won't have a removable battery. The "label" with the FCC ID and other regulatory marks is clearly screen-printed on the back of the phone. They don't do that unless there's no "under the battery" for a traditional label.

Camera Quality, what's wrong?

I keep reading that the camera isn't that great, but no details as to why. Is it picture quality, the application that is used to take the pictures??? Can anyone who has the phone, or tested it in person, tell me what the "Issue" with the camera is?

Speakphone- Half Dulpex?

☹️

Really???
If they included a full-duplex speakerphone, that might have pushed the price point above what they wanted. This was meant to be a kind of cost-cutting device.
whats the diff between half and full?

no Lapdock / Webtop

Unfortunately, we've rec'd confirmation from Motorola that the Atrix HD does not include the Webtop software and therefore won't work with the Lapdock accessories. It's a price issue; it's one way they got the price down to $99 (on contract.)

It's still a very high-spec consumer device, but for those looking for that particular business feature, the Atrix 2 might be a better choice.
😕 were there many people that actually used the laptop dock?

Atrix HD for $49.99

If you want this phone I see it's only $49.99 at Best Buy.

Unfortunate Trends

Another phone with a sealed-in battery ?. Ugh.
And what's up with deleting the Webtop just to make a $99 price point ? That was just software, unless Motorola has to pay someone royalties for it. The prior Atrix's were typically offered for $49 and sometimes $0.
Both the battery situation and lack of Webtop support on this phone are deal breakers for me.
I own an Atrix 2 and love it, but I guess if I had to upgrade right now I'd be ditching Motorola for a Samsung Galaxy S III.
I was once with you on the sealed battery thing. But it does make fore a better water proofing and slimmer design. No days you can find battery powered phone chargers to get you by in a pinch that you would normally put your secondary battery in.
