How long will AT&T Be Exclusive?

This phone meets my needs, but I don't want to sign up to a contract with AT&T. Does anyone know how long it will be until I can buy one on the open market in the US?

Galaxy S4 Active did not pass water test

after using it in about 10 inches of water for one to 2 minutes the phone let the water in, despite all advised precautions.
the customer service is playing goofs asking us "who ever told us we could use Galaxy S4 Active underwater"?

The worst thing is that Samsung customer service did not care at all to replace the phone. Tech support requested the phone to be send to repair services, but why, if it was faulty from the day one?

Can anyone to advise how one can fight with this situation?

thank you in advance.

Impressive Phone

Well, I broke down & upgraded from my GS3.
So far, so good. Very well built, rugged design.
The LCD screen seems to have more truer colors than Amoled screen + they had to use this screen for waterproofing. Am still getting use to the Menu, Home & Return buttons. Great features, very fast with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600+ pro processor & the Adreno 320 GPU & 2 gigs of dual channel ram. Its actually an improved version of the original GS4. MDM9215, with Gobi embedded modem, will be b much faster on the new version of LTE. The batt life seems great 12hrs., normal usage, calls, texting, internet, etc. Pics & video are fine (lens quality more important than pixels anyway). Sound very good, emails come thru quicker than on my GS3 or Monika's ...

I like it

This could be a great option for me getting a darn near MILL SPEC phone but with good hardware, OUTSTANDING!

Hope to hear Verizon getting it
I believe this version is an AT&T exclusive device
S4 Active is not Mil-Spec. Note even close. Dropping this 5" unprotected screen on concrete from 1.2 Meters will equal cracked screen or internal electronic failure. Just like the regular S3 or S4 models.

Me too. Qualcomm Quadcore 600 Pro + @ 1.9Ghz, with an Adreno 320 GUI & 2 gigs of dual channel ram. Ruggidized, very good, I believe it's a winner.
Actually like the looks, matte finish (not slippery), metalic back, lock screws, etc.
They prob ha...

Hmmmm............iPhone killer. Maybe.

I'm due for an upgrade in August and I'm thinking I might just have to get this. I love my iPhone, but I've already dropped it in water twice, so this would be a good phone for me. Not to mention, the blue looks really nice. I've had prior experience with Samsung phones & they are nice phones. Now, if the next iPhone comes out & it's water resistant I'm gonna be upset. But, I highly doubt that's gonna happen.
