2 q? Tethering and accessories

First, has anyone any horror stories of tethering w pdanet or Internet sharing on tilt w/o paying the extra $$ and then getting a huge bill? In short what happens if you do it. cutoff? huge bill? nothing? is usage a factor?
Second, is there anywhere that I can buy a car adapter that will charge tilt and FM broadcast music w one connection/adapter? Am I the only one who has thought of this? I hope not.
Thanks

Interested in this phone have some questions

I am a Network admin and I want the ability to remote into my network to do work while I am on travel and I do not have access to my laptop.

There is a condition to this though, I want to know if I can be on the phone talking to people while also remotly controlling my machines.

I know I can install the remote desktop connection on the Windows OS but I do not know if I can multi task both the phone and the remote connection.

I've also seen comments taht a lot of software is installed by AT&T. Can you uninstall this unneeded software with out any issues to your service?

is there going to be a new Tilt?

if so when?

I tried the Tilt at the ATT store and transitioning from application to other apps or other screens seems to be slow. it seems like it takes a while to redraw...

maybe a new stronger version is on the horizon??

jc
Doubtful. HTC has released numerous new phones since the Tilt - including some with more features/power - but none of them have had the tilting screen. My guess is that the Tilt was a one-off design and won't be upgraded.

The HTC Touch Pro is abo...

the tilt is now at "end of life" life stage at at&t so hopefully they will come out with an updated version of the tilt or something better.
I was in an At&t store yesterday getting an iphone for my girlfriend. I saw one of the sales reps walking around with a phone i wasn't sure of what it was. Then when i saw it I asked him if it was the Fuse. He said yes and it should be out within t...

Whose wonderful idea was it to leave our youtube mobile support?

I'm not messaging for help...maybe I should write a review...but seriously, the RealPlayer plugin for PIE on this Phone is absolute garbage...Sure it views anything linked within the phone just fine, but it can't view other streaming media worth a crap.

I had the option of the tilt for 400 or the Treo 750 for 250...needless to say I am heading back not even 24 hours later to return my tilt...It almost makes me want to cry because other than this it is a superior phone in every way...I simply just don't understand how on earth the Treo 750 with less hardware, the SAME OS and SAME BROWSER can view them and this one can't. This isn't the only feature I bought an expensive phone for, I was upgrading from the blackberry curve line and honestly...

YouTube not working

I'm unable to get YouTube to work. when I go to http://m.youtube.com/ and select a video, it tires to start realplayer and stops with "meida file type not supported"

has anyone experienced these types of errors and what's the workaround??

Thanks
don't think there is a workaround. i don't believe the tilt can do that which sucks

Its got nothing to do with realplayer, its the tilt itlself. when HTC designed it, they never added video drivers to it. If you go to

Bloatware

What is it and how do I keep it from installing when I receive my phone?
I don't know how to soft re-set.
To do a soft reset, you take your stylus and insert it in the small hole located at the bottom of the phone...Hope that helps... ๐Ÿ™‚
best way i find to do it is, go to start, settings, click system on the bottom and click clear storage, this will reset the phone to the way it was shipped to you, go thru the set up process and when you get to the part where it says software install ...

Replace the lcd screen yourself and save $$$

I bought a used Tilt with a bad screen for $40 on Craigslist. Bought a replacement lcd screen on Ebay for about $50. (shipped from Hong Kong to US). It took about 30 minutes, with the right screwdrivers, and followed the step by step dismantling photos at this site

http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_htc_kaiser/ »

I didn't have the plastic separator and used a flat screwdriver instead therefor i had a few scratch marks on the inside but the phone works perfectly. I would rate a 4 on difficulty if 1 was easy and 10 being an electronic repairman.

The lowest price estimate was $130 to replace the screen.

8925 lcd screen and 8525 lcd screen, the same?

Can I replace my cracked 8925 screen with a good 8525 screen? Are they the same part?
Unfortunately, the screens are different not only in the location of the LCD connector, but also the connection itself: they are not interchangeable. It's a pity as I still feel the 8525 screens were better made and sturdier than the 8925 screens..

wow! that was long...

good thing i got the unbranded unlocked one. 6.1 has been out there for a while now and att just released it now...XD
True, but they have to 'test' it. I heard the CEO of ATT Mobility swaps phones like every week.

You don't NEED the AT&T Official ROM for an AT&T Tilt. You can just as easily flash to a custom or HTC ROM and get Windows Mobile 6.1

HTC Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade for AT&T Tilt

This has been out for a while, but I just discovered it and installed it yesterday. I also did the trick that prevents the AT&T bloatware from being installed, so now I have 105 MB free storage and 66.5 MB free program memory. (I have a 4 gig SDHC micro card that I use as primary storage.)

You can download the ROM update from:

Apparently HTC posted the wrong link, so the one I gave above (and installed on my phone) is actually only the latest version of Windows Mobile 6.0 for the Tilt.

What made me suspicious is that one of the improvements that is supposed to be include...

Head's up!

Don't know how it is on the Tilt but I assume it's the same. I upgraded my AT&T Q9h to WM 6.1 via Motorola's software and the upgrade erases everything. So keep you're ringtones and important stuff on you're SD card. And you're contacts on you're SIM card before upgrading.
That's true of most ROM upgrades. Also, to mention, some phones don't necessarily save contacts to your SIM.

No headphones?!

How could HTC not include headphones with this phone. They do with every other phone that they have, with every other carrier. Was this at&t's decision?
its always the carriers decision because the carrier pay for the device.
