Why would anyone sign up with Sprint PCS?
Any intelligent person that is, that has done there homework.
Verizon Wireless is the hands down carrier to be with.
#1 in customer service (JD powers & Consumer Reports).
#1 in coverage (same sources)
Sprint PCS repeatedly is at the bottom in both catogories.

Well lets see hmmm, I work for VZW yet I have Sprint PCS service.. Maybe because With sprint I get options that not even employee get, for example:
Unlimited Mobile 2 Mobile to ANY Sprint PCS phone. (Only Unlimited M2M Verizon has is to other phones on the Family Share Plan)
Unlimited Data access from you Mobile Device. (Verizon's STILL use minutes)
Ability to download ringers, screen savers, games, etc.. from 3rd parties, not just from Sprint PCS.
Unlimited Nights and Weekend Starting @ 7pm instead of 9pm. And even without the 7pm start time thier Nights and Weekends are still longer. Sprint is 9pm-7am, Verizon is 9:01pm - 5:59am
Better Phone selection. More "Walkie Talkie" phones, MORE Camera phone, EVEN a BLUETOOTH phone.

amen brother. its all about creating a personal plan as well as VISION. I've been with PCS for over 3 years. (thankfully never had a CS problem). when my last phone died i got the a500 (still have and love it).
so i got the free three months of vision. had its problems at first but now work perfectly for me. unlimited data and i'm addicted to vision. weather, news and the yahoo portal is awesome: check email, stock portfolios etc)
my wife recently got a camera phone, i was doubtful about buying into that. well, i'm hooked on that as well and will get a camera phone when they are the size of my a500 and hopefully samsung.

The A620/VGA 1000 is a: Samsung; b: a camera phone, and c: just a wee bit bigger than the A500. I myself upgraded to the A620 from a perfectly functioning A500 because of the camera AND the fact it seems to be about 50% faster when accessing Vision web services. I love it.

I have never had a problem with Sprint's Customer Service. Actually they are the best Customer Service I have dealt with including Verizon. Sprint offers a variety of rate plans. And has a great selection of phones that work! With Verizon I was in more roam than I was with AT&T and Sprint. Sprint also offers alot more features that can be added to their rate plans.

The company that first said "no, we won't charge you for WLNP" and then proceeded to break that promise less than 6 months later.
Verizon, the company that lays claim to the highest-speed data network in the country... as long as you conveniently ignore that it's only in two cities, and not living up to its promise even there.
Verizon, the company that doesn't trust you with your own phone, locking it down to prevent you from downloading whatever you want to it.

And Sprint also has the advantage of having ALL of thier features working the same way anywhere on thier network, even in affiliate areas.
Verizon's *OWN* netwok is probably just as big as Sprint's. Most of their "Network" is Extended, which means it someone elses network, and Verizon is covering the cost of your using it. Use you phone in extended network and don't expect to be able to use mobile web, M2M, PTT, and sometimes even your own VM.

for the first time a good candid respose bravo osiris. every co at some point is going to recoupe its wlnp expenses why wouldn't they? the fcc mandated it to all the carriers. the only thing I have to say outside of that is Sprint is the recipient of the Frost and Sullivan telecomm svcs award and our stock just hit a 52 week high. wlnp has been a major issue for everyone. we all have to go through a middle man to get numbers ported. don't be to hsty to blame the co. you are porting to they just request the number from your current carrier they have no other control. Sprint in an effort to ease some of the issues will more than likely waive your activation fee if the process takes longer than expected or there are other issues.
