Why does it matter? you are still paying way less at $79.99 than you are for AT&T, Verizon and even T-Mobile for what you get.
Is the original poster's life so empty that thay take this up as a cause? for crying out loud it only averages out to 33 cents per day more. Somone actually created a website for this? They have too much time and too little significant activity in life. If it bothers you then don't buy the phone and use a Hero. Or better your go to an iphone and pay way more for less.

And Sprint likes to compare the Everything Data 450 with AT&T Unlimited Talk with the add ons for unliited text and data. AT&T Total: 114.99. Sprint Total for Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data with an EVO: 109.99. Does not seem like a lot of savings. $5.00 is not the big difference Sprint makes it out to be. And before assuming I hate Sprint, I work for them so know what kind of misinformation is being presented. If the truth is told, it's not a big difference.

i really dont understand why people are in such a fuss over it. If you dont want to pay it, dont get it. People who had to pay attional data charges for an iPhone never complained. The statement has been brought up may times and posted on the site and it seems to be overlooked>

The reason for making this an issue is because Sprint is misleading customers with its terminology. Not everything is about price, honest and straight forward business still has an impact with a few customers out there.
All that being said I do think Sprint has some well priced plans, plans that can sell themselves. No need to hide this $10 premium crap.

Truth. I tell people that it's to expand services, and it's a better way (in my opinion) than capping data.

But AT&T limits you to 200mb of download while Sprint gives unlimited data. Sprint includes the GPS that you pay $10.00 for on AT&T and it uses a ton of your data allotment which could end up costing you more. Since the average iPhone customer uses 400mb or more it is very likely to cost another $15.00 or $30.00 in overages. You could also go to the $25.00 plan but then the cost comparison is more accurate.

Don't want to pay extra for using more data and additional bandwidth? Don't get the Evo, then. There are the Hero and Moment for Android options, both of which are used in my home and work great.
The iPhone has its own required data package at a slightly higher price, yet the phone is less powerful and can do less. And ATT has a very minor 3G network, while Sprint offers extensive 3G and some 4G at a lower price. Why aren't we making a website asking ATT to justify themselves?

As I understand it, this is the situation: AT&T's 3G network has been crippled by the iPhone and Sprint has no intention of being put in the same position with nothing to show for it. So if Evo users are going to use up all the bandwith (because not everyone who is buying it can use WiMax towers), they may as well pay for the privilege.

The fee is in place to maintain the unlimited data that any Sprint customer with any data plan (save data card plans) is entitled to, especially our data and data share plans.
AT$T is capping their 3G data and probably their 4G.
Verizon plans to cap their LTE service.
If you can't appreciate that, then perhaps the problem is not Sprint. Perhaps the problem is your flawed logic.

Ability to use video chat and unlimited bandwidth... no matter if you are on 3G or 4G... and while the phone has Sprint apps on it, you are free to do what you wish... if you do not want to pay the additional $30.00 a month for the Sprint Hotspot, they (as of now) are not going to block those services... also, to help build out the 4G network... THAT is what the additional $10.00 a month is for.
