Ok so I just want to Poll the audience here with the question, "With no upgrade eligibility at the current time (i.e., I'm eligible in February/March 2011) and about $450 - $550 in had, what would you get?"

Choices are:

a. Sprint HTC 4G Evo; OR
b. Apple iPad Wi-Fi (not 3G)

Replies appreciated and Trolls need not reply. KEEP OUT TROLLS!!

I didn't notice a stutter when I said that. Perhaps you need to get off your pedestal and accept some people think both of those phones are crap.

Well your wrong. The Evo has it's name because the word "Evolution" means to become better.

Idiots that think the Evo is crap?

Seriously...

I know people that don't like Sprint...

I know people that don't like the $10 fee...

I even know people that wouldn't get a smart-phone if their life depended on it...

But calling the Evo crap?

I'm raising the bull#$%^ flag on that call...

The phone has, hands down, the best specs out. It's made by a company that makes damn good phones. With the hottest operating system out right now.

Perhaps you need to get off of YOUR pedestal and back up your claims that these phones are crap, because virtually everything I read says differently...

Again, my statement never said they were crap. It did say that there are people that think they are crap. Please learn some reading comprehension.

Additionally, my opinion is based on the fact that every call that I get from a person that has a touchscreen and/or android phone is a person calling because it is the repeated failure of the phone. With the exception of 1 call, all of the callers I've had with touchscreen and/or android phones have had them replaced at least 3 times due to issues that cannot be repaired and are (based on repair notes) not due to customer abuse. The majority of those calls are with HTC phones. Based on that, I definitely would not call the HTC EVO a great phone. Now, if time shows that it works fine wi...

Simple answer to your question....yes I have and like it but some ancillary factors kinda bother me at the immediate moment.

1. I'm not paying full price, FIRST and FOREMOST. I know that Sprint has a phone buyback program and so I'm trying to see what both of my Hero Devices would bring me in return. If I find it to be a "plaudible" scenario, i'll plunge!

2. I'm in Dallas but what does not make sense to me for the moment is the spottiness/absence of 4G in Denton County, which is where I live. I visited the nearest Spr...

I visited the nearest Sprint Corporate Store to my house and per what they told me, the 4G towers in my area will be turned on soon but they did not say as to how soon. That said, I still like how the 3
