Industry first....I'm thinking 4g Blackberry phone but who knows...
...

I think Sprint will announce a 1st 4G iPhone or Blackberry. Or LTE ruuning with WiMAX.
...
I dont think it will be anything apple related but I think they may get a 4g blackberry device, as well as a new 4g android 3.0 tablet, Palm/hp new phones and the all new PalmPad running webos. But I really think they will get a projector phone or debut some kind of new plan or tower tech. ๐
...
I can totally see there being a projector phone, or a 3D phone out on the market. I don't think they'd drop their plans any lower (who knows though, they might!) It's not like it's a bad thing if they do!
...
Looks like they increased the Data plans so now all we can do is wait and see what happens on feb 7th not much info is leaking so it could be anything at this point. ๐
...
I think it will be the 4g Blackberry.
...
I think they will release a 4g blackberry but I don't think they would go all out and call it a industry first for one of Rims products. I think it will be something bigger than that hopefully.
...
im also thinking a 4g blackberry. they made a big deal about the style so i could see another big deal for a 4g blackberry. i also know in my market they took away the mail in rebates this month so maybe since we have been hitting big numbers they might make it nation wide but thats a big stretch
...
Yes please make that nationwide I paid 400.00 bucks in store for my Epic 4g with a 19.00 case be nice to keep that money I did receive my 100.00 rebate though. I hope they announce more then one device but a 4g blackberry would be cool. ๐
...
That would be SWEET if they took off Mail in Rebates all together. It would clear up quite a few issues between customers and reps, and it would be nice to just know up front what you're payding for and not have to figure out what something "really" costs.
...
It says an 'industry first'. Sprint and T-Mobile join forces. Because now that VZW and ATT are the only two with the iPhone. Sprint and T-Mobile are somewhat left out in the cold.
...
Naw I don't see that happening, but I do see Sprint getting something that will shut down the iphone 4 and surpass iphone 5, as well as a serious ipad competitor. ๐

The thing to know is Sprint is inviting everyone in adroid forums for open discussion. However ther is rumot to a new htc device. It is probably a tablet with (honeycomb) 3.0. I cannot confirm nor do i truly know what it is. I can tell you it is not a blackberry or iphone. Sprint is getting the blackberry playbook and the iphone in the summer supposedley. ๐ณ
...
I'm personally hoping they release a few devices. 2 tabs the playbook and anything running Android 3.0 with a dual core. As well as 2 phones a new HP/Palm webos device and a Android Power house like the Evo was running on a dualcore. Anything beyond that is a bonus. I'm still not to sure if Sprint will get the iphone I'd much rather them get the Playstation phone personally but who knows they might get it if Apple wants to have more options.
...
i would love a dual core android phone and new hp/palm phone with awesome hardware! ๐
...
I'm hearing it might be a dual sided phone or a 3D phone. I was hoping for an iPhone 4 announcement, butI don't think that's gonna happen so close to Verizon's Feb. 10th release date...
...
Yeah I think it will be the new Lg 3d phone. Thats gonna be sick if it can record in 3d. ๐

Sprint is combining 800/900/1900 Mhz
...
That doesn't even make any sense. Modulation is the process of manipulating an electromagnetic wave to make it represent a usable data stream on the receiving end. It has nothing to do with interweaving frequency bands, unless they're going to redefine "modulation" like T-mobile did with "4G."
Whatever the plan, I hope it is something techie like that- which I would be interested in- as opposed to some stupid new phone announcement.
Though it would be an absolute coup if they simultaneously announced that non-Sprint handsets would be fully acceptable on the network, letting VZW iPhones (or anything else) onto their system.
Now, that would be interesting.
...
I don't think verizon will let that happen. I am sure they will lock the iphone up as to only be used on the verizon network.
...
How would Sprint stop the phones from choosing the other carrier's towers over their own? If there were a way to flash Sprint's PRL into handsets over the air that would be cool...otherwise paying Verizon for roaming would be expensive.
...
If Sprint starts permitting un-verified ESNs in their billing system, it will take 7.2 days for a CDMA iPhone jailbreak to appear.
All the security measures on the phone are software, and they can be broken.
...
True so true. If the palm pre could be hack to run on verizon the iphone can be hacked to run on Sprint. ๐

http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/10/palm-pre-seeming- ... »Now that I have the pointlessness out of the way:
The ONLY way you can have a CDMA device running on another network is to have someone on that network add the MEID (also called the ESN) to that other network.
If someone does this, they risk losing their job and possibly facing fines.
Flashing the phone to accept the new signals is the easy part. the MEID requires direct intervention on the part of the carrier in question.
This is an inherent "flaw" (or feature depending on how you look at it) of CDMA networks. It makes it a LOT harder for someone to use your stolen device, but it also means...

So what was the announcement about? ๐คจ
...
a 3g kyocera with dual screens...thats about it
...
I think David Blaine paid Sprint to introduce w/e phone that is about to release and make a big deal about it so then he can preform before hand and everytime someone was to talk about the Announcement leading up to it, it would include his name. Basically paid Sprint to host a show so he can tell people he is still alive and for him to feel important because no one cares about David Blaine lets be honest. His magic is crap

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
not to the phone but to the hype.
im still not sure of the phone either though just to be honest.
the moto backflip for ATT was a Fail

Could not agree more. Hype up a gimmick.

ok so i know this is a shot in the dark but...
if it has a tablet mode could it get 3.0 honeycomb?
or could it be possible that if it can't get it from google can it be rooted? Hmmmmmm...?
...
That would be cool if tablet mode went 3.0 that would sweeten the deal at 199.99. Kyocera I hope your listening. ๐
...
Oh yeah. Boo the phone as well.
Kyocera.
Nothing more need be said.

I must say I like this form factor MUCH better than the Backflip. The hinging mechanism they've got here is intriguing- if it's durable...

Bwahahaha and you sprint employees wonder why sprint has half the customers of verizon and at&t. Be like me and jump ship to one of those two carriers because at the end of the day they will be the only ones left standing.
...
Those carriers suck just as bad if not worse... You must buy into marketing thats about the only thing they do better than Sprint
...
Right just like sprints 3.5g service. Last time i check 3.5 is not 4g
...
Sprint doesn't have a 3.5g service you must have them confused with att and tmobile. Wimax and Lte are 4g technology's that deliver vast improvements over 3g. ๐
