If you don't like CDMA simply don't sign up with a CDMA carrier. It's really not that serious.

How that crap technology ever got started in the US is beyond me. I guess Qualcomm greased some palms to get their bulls**t going here. At least with GSM you won't have phones completely locked down to their network. The US getting set up on CDMA will have to go down as one of the biggest mistakes ever made in mobile phone history. Thanks goodness T-Mobile will convert Metro PCS to GSM and finally have a decent phone selection at decent prices.
