US Cellular in Minnesota?
Just wondering if anyone has heard about the possibility of US Cellular starting to have service in Minnesota. I have heard that this is coming out but other than that nothing. Any idea on where it will be covering if at all?

U.S. Cellular has released the Rochester Market effective 11/01/03. I haven't seen any other aquisitions in Minnesota, but it would be very nice if we do get more Minnesota markets

What you should understand is that any cell carrier is focused on what makes the company more money. In this case with Minnesota, the bulk of our roaming expense is in Minneapolis/St. Paul. What U.S cellular pays for the customer to be able to use the phone in Minnesota is nothing compared to the roaming charges the customer pays. If U.S Cellular makes Minnesota roam free for lets say our regional plan, we would lose a large amount of money. I don't see anything in the near future (2 years) of Minnesota being covered under U.S Cellular's calling area. Unless the competition changes don't expect it to happen anytime soon.

I'd expect USCC to be bought out sometime soon 🙂 They're a GREAT company, but very small

Thats what I would of thought too some time ago but no, they are the little company that could that keeps going, from the way it sounds it'll be quite some time before they get bought out as they are set money wise and keep puting up new towers in more states.
