Compliant & A Complaint
I purchased a BB Curve about 6 months ago after having it a month and half it was dropping calls, losing signal, disconnecting from the bis server and about ever other incoming call was going straight to vm. So I took it to the repair rep at the corporate store and she checked it out and reproduced the problems that I was having with it. She contacted the datatek team and was told to have me wipe and reload the phone and if this did not solve the problem I would need to contact datatek directly for replacement. Hey... Glad that USCC gave you that repair cost back... To make the situation brighter for you, starting Feb. 1st, USCC will be fixing that problem you speak of... What happens is, when the phone is connecting to the Bis Server, all incoming phone calls are overridden, hence you won't get them. Starting Feb 1st however, that will be changed so calls take presidence over data....
Hope that helps.

Is this True? I have an HTC6800 will calls over ride data? That would be good.

Yes, starting 2/1/2009, all incoming calls will interrupt your internet browsing.
This will be fixed on all phones starting next month, 🙂

This is only half true. If you are in a EVDO (high speed mobile braodband) area, you already have this. You would be promped and have the option to take a call in the middle of a data session.
If you are in a 1x market, you can choose one to have precedence over the other (voice vs. data) You will not have the service automatically until all markets have the service implemented. You can toggle your preference on and off for your specific needs. Implementation date may vary. See a corporate USCC store for full details. 🙂
