So every year US Cellular comes out with new smartphones. I have my mail in rebate form in front of me for my Moto Q9c, and it clearly has an option under smartphones between the htc touch and moto q9c for the HTC TOUCH PRO!!! A 70 dollar mail in rebate will be available for this phone....pricing however isn't given.... this will be a nice addition to our collection! But anyway, does anyone know of any other smartphones currently on the way for US Cellular??? This summer maybe? Blackberry and Windows Mobile and Palm maybe? Just to be fair I will ask also for speculations, but please be clear of what yours is. Thanks to all replies!!! 🙂

I can tell you with some uncertainity that we will be getting a Samsung smartphone with Windows Mobile, and the BB Pearl Flip. These are the only two I know about other than the Touch Pro. I myself cant wait for the Pearl Flip!!!

I really don't like any Windows product. IBM released the hardward for PC's to be an "open standard" and Microsoft developed a proprietary OS as a result. Microsoft has hundreds of billions of dollars, yet they have to steal ideas from smaller competitors. You would think with the capital they have, they could be innovators, but no they just copy or steal ideas. Hopefully Google or some other company will develop an open standard OS that will put Microsoft out of business for good! 😈

I think if Google developed an OS, I would prolly thank them by sacrificing a small goat or something... That would be amazing!

Although not invented by Google, they did adapt the Linux kernel into a mobile operating system also know as Android which is on the HTC G1.

The Linux operating is very versatile and more stable than any other OS if setup properly. They major downside to Linux is usability for users with basic computer knowledge. The great thing is almost all software for Linux is available in some shape or form for free. Generally speaking, if a company charges for Linux software you are almost always paying for customer support rather that the software code itself.

Linux has the capability to over shoot Microsoft Windows by a long shot, but the only problem is industry standards. When you buy a computer what do you almost always see for the OS......

I myself can not stand WinMo. I think its slow, and its freezes all the time. I don't know much about linux but if your computerking. I think we should all band together as a company and tell uscell to get rid of windows for good.

I must say honestly Windows Mobile is not my first choice for reliability its really not that bad of an operating system overall if used properly. As with all computers there are things you must do from time to time so that machine will run well in the long term.

I have owned the HTC 6800 from release until last week and now have the HTC Touch Pro. Overall WinMo 6.1 isn't horrible, but it does run alot smoother on the Touch Pro rather than the 6800 which is because of the increased processor speed and a big ram upgrade. Yes I know your probably thinking 6.1 on the 6800 isnt correct....I know.....I hacked the boot rom and loaded up 6.1 on my 6800 and a very other "tweaks."

Personally I would rank BlackBerry highest for reliability ov...
