$630 mistake on part of the company!!!

Well, I'm not in a very good mood right now. I had a half day of school and when I returned home my grandfather called me very upset, telling me that US Cellular has made some type of mistake and has charged us 630 dollars extra on my phone for easyedge usage. He went down to a local store and spoke with a family friend, the store manager who knew something was wrong. The customer service department apparently would not allow her to help resolve the issue very long and my grandfather had to speak. He spoke with a woman, deep within the endless chain of departments, who seemed to be very blunt and rude to him. She suggested that the extra bill was my fault that I had used it on my KRZR. Considering that I had only had my KRZR for a few days ...

it hasn't all been this week! lol. but yeah i know i have been having constant problems... if its not one technology its another.... but like i said hopefully they say everything is okay tomorrow....and we can be content with us cellular like we have been for a long time (me for five years, my pap for probably a decade). A similar situation occurred to my uncle two years ago with uscc... the amount being 400 dollars... and they switched to cellular one (dobson) now the new at&t.... hopefully we dont come to this.... i would just like for once for all of my technology to just work and we not having to complain, replace, reorder, call financial depts. (dell and uscc just recently (p.s. i hate dell they sent me two broken comp. and now i have s...

That does sound like you're having issue after issue, but first of all, if the company is at fault 9 times out of 10 they will fix it, so calm down. Second, you're not going to get a perfect carrier. Technology isn't perfect. It never will be. Just calm down and try to fix the problem at hand instead of wasting your time complaining to us. We can't help you. Most of us are states away from you.

yeah, i know what you mean considering that i live in maryland and most of everyone else here is from the midwest, where uscc is more prominent. but anyway, pappy told me today that the latest info that he received from them was that it would take at least 24 to 72 more hours to figure out if they are able to do anything for us.... i also agree that they will hopefully and probably fix the issue.... if not i'll have to deal with yet another nightmare scenario.... i really hope everything turns out alright! 🙂

I see people like you all the time in alltel it is simple put easyedge unlimted on your plan then you won't get these crazy charges believe me they won't charge you all that extra if you are not using it !! They have records of the usage they can tell everything you typed in and every ringtone you listened to using the easyedge service also if people are texting you files and you download them and you don't have the easyedge serivce you will be charged per kb which really adds up I would ask them to backdate your plan and add easyedge just act like you thought it was on there !! Just say you went into the store and added it and that they forgot to do it!! I mean it's either that or suck it up and pay the bill a hard lesson learned

woh!!!!!!! u need to calm down and read for once! i have a MOTOROLA Q9C!!! i.e. a smartphone with a DATA PLAN. unless US Cellular agents forgot to put the data plan on the account or put the wrong one on, then there is no way i had all this easyedge usage.... they wouldn't have sold me a smartphone with out a data plan and yes i did use the internet on my phone, but that was to be covered under the 24.95 plan that we had to sign up for with this phone.... so once again read before you reply unless u wanna sound like an idiot

Hmmmm.... That's funny, your first post said you had a Krzr.........

I still think you used up easyedge when you didn't have it.

No, it did not! read my other threads. I have a Moto Q9c which I do not like. I had a KRZR for a few days on this bill before upgrading. I believe what happened was that US Cellular forgot to add the data plan when they gave me the new phone and, thinking I had it, I used the internet. Naturally, I figured that since they can't sell me a smartphone without a data plan, that it was just there. I'm so tired of how rude some ppl on here are... stop accusing me. Oh and by the way, I got an answer today about the problem..... i'll give info in another reply

my grandfather also told me that the bill was like a mile long.....why would that be??? i figured they would just put like "easyedge usage - $630) but I guess they display each little usage? idk maybe he just cant tell the difference? is this true? should our bill be longer with all this too

My grandfather called USCC today, as it has been over 72 hours. They told him that they saw that I had a smartphone, figured out that all data had been used on the Q9c, and that they were taking all of the charges off. They sincerely apologized and explained that most likely it was due to some problems they were having with their servers, etc. but they could've just said that. I believe that they forgot to put the data plan on my account or put the wrong one on but that's just what i think... so all things are right in the world.... and things will be even better when i replace the cable outlet in my wall and take back my ilive for a new one. After that I'll probly just save up money anbd eventually buy a new phone or new ipod or something....

I'm glad your issue has been resolved. It most likely was a billing system error (which is rare). If the rep didn't add the correct code to your account your phone would not have been provisioned and would NOT have been able to access the data network.

Sounds like a billing system error to me, but I could understand where the others were getting confused about you swapping phones. you did say you had a krazr and only a krazr in that first post. Anyways, glad things worked out.

sadly i hate when people threaten lawyer action, kinda pointless, you probably have an old easy edge soc code was surfing easyedge, left it on for an ight and was billed for time, ask for a remedy to have the soc code updated if this is the issue, and be put on the one with the 30$ cap, same thing happened to my friend, 1,600$, but they credited it all back, because we were nice polite and paitent, not threatening on sueing, because if it turns out to be customer created, good luck on sueing and they dont have to help.. when its an issue like that. they cant upgrade you to the new soc code with out your request because thats changing info within your account without permission
