So I know USC used to carry this not long ago, and one rep told me they discontinued it. Then another rep told me the same thing, but for software issues and they were going to re-release it again in a week or so with the update. Is this true? And is the phone worth getting?

The phone was never discontinued. It was pulled from the floor for software issues. The phone is being flashed with new software provided by motorola within the next week and might..might be back on the floor by easter.
As far as being worth getting, it is, but it will take some getting used to when learning that the 'fn' key plays a pivotal role with some of the things that you do. Otherwise, go for it.

Awesome, thanks a lot. Also, I heard some bad reviews with the slow and laggy speed of the software. Will this issue be resolved with this new update?

I actually have this phone and I love it. Its compact but is packed with a lot of features. The keyboard is a little different it took me a week or so to get used to it. Even with some of the issues that it has i LOVE this phone
