HTC Touch Pro Question

I am very excited to see USCC finally get the HTC TP. Does the HTC TP have GPS activated? It was not listed as one of the features on the USCC site. As I travel alot, will the GPS also work outside of the USCC home area?

Thanks for the help!

I sold my first one last night and it is a marvelous phone! I'm SO glad that the company was finally able to roll this out. The touchflo interface is magnificent - almost enough to lure me back from the BB. Everything about the phone is great, from the form factor (which feels good in the hand) to the OS, to the preloaded programs and aps (Youtube, Opera mobile and more). It's just great - another great selling point for us!

YEs it has GPS. It will work with the Microsoft LiveSearch program on the phone. However, it strictly uses satelites to track your position so to get your initial satelite fix you would need to be out side on a relatively clear day. This is in contrast to Your Navigator which uses satelites and triangulates your position with our towers as well.

The GPS on the TP would work as long as you are in an area with data coverage, whether that is USCC's network or roaming on another carriers data network. Technically the GPS would work anywhere but the mapping program (i.e. LiveSearch, Google Maps) uses data to show you where you are going.
