I have spent about 6 1/2 years in the wireless industry. I started with Verizon back before the move to digital and left the company in spring 2007. When I left, I was working part time and pulling down 29k a year. If anyone can tell me, how is their hourly rate and commission structure? Any help would be most appreciated! Very Happy
Regards

they about match verizon i believe...from what you made part-time is attainable at us cellular as well. i dont think quotas are as high as verizon though...course its not as big of a company but you'd be fine working for em 😎

Here's some numbers...I made $9.00 per hour plus commision... 1-10 activation in the month was $10 each, 10-25 was $20 each and above 25 was 30 each i believe. achieving 30 activations in a month was tough at my store though

If you are a good sales person, the hourly plus the commission will be great for you. On top of sales commission, benefits are amazing as well. One of my team used to sell for AT&T and tells me that our commission rate is better than theirs.

Haha you've got to be kidding walmart pays better than AT&T. They have got to be the worst company ever. They talk about wanting to be the best company in the industry, but they can't seem to get their heads on straight. U.S Cellular would hve to be better than those clowns.

I was an authorized agent, and working for USCC was one of the worse decisions I made. I killed in October-December 08... Probably averaged $5000 those 3 months, and than the chargebacks hit in Feb. 09. We were on commission only though, if your getting an hourly you should be fine. The problem agents are having is the lower deposits. Yes it drives more into the stores activating, but 2 months later the phone gets disconnected due to non-payment and you lose your commission. A co-worker of mine got a check for literally $11 (for a whole month mind you of FULL TIME work). If your going corporate though, you should be good, just don't rely on your commission, look at the commission as an added bonus.

What is the yearly average for a Retail Wireless Consultant?
...
depends on the market and the store and any number of other variables. I've done very well in the two years i've been with the company as a ft associate.
...
I know it varies, but is it likely to make $45,000-$50,000 as a FT RWC?

Your first year in....would be pretty hard depending on your location.
...
that has a lot to do with your location I went from Corp to Agent and wouldn't go back. The most I've been charged back is $25 bucks...thats one activation. Usually there is one or two a month outta 70-80 lines in my area. I keep in touch with all of my customers make sure the service is what they need and want and your going to have the occational chargeback. Company doesn't get paid you dont get paid only kinda sucks because you put all that work into it.
