Hello,
I am currently with Verizon and considering porting to USCC, but a friend told me to be careful. He was driving from Denver to Chicago about a year ago, and claims that several people have said they tried to call his USCC phone along the way, and they (the callers) heard about 4 rings, but his phone never rang. So my question is this: When a USCC phone with a Chicago area number is roaming on Sprint, VZW, or another CDMA carrier, will that phone still accept inbound calls, while roaming?
This is the only issue giving me pause in porting to USCC.
Thanks in advance.

Absolutely, a US Cellular phone will receive calls while roaming on Sprint, Verizon, etc.
My guess... your friend's phone was probably set to HOME ONLY, meaning that it was only able to find a US Cellular tower. That is a setting that can be adjusted.
Be carfeul though. Be certain that you have a national plan before traveling out of the Chicago area. National plans include roaming. Most Wide Area plans only include 30 minutes on a one phone plan or 45 on a family plan.
Hope this helps!

erikpkp,
What is your opinion of the Motorola Crush?
...
Well, it is one of our feature phones, meaning that i uses easy edge "ee" for our internet service. It has a heat sensitive touch screen. The phone is very popular among our prepaid base, but for contracted plans its at the bottom of the list. Customers focus on Crush only because it doesn't require a internet package. The operating system takes more "strokes" or levels to complete simple tasks. Text is a little slow to respond because of the type of touch screen. As far as the touch screens go it would be last on my list. If you want your phone to be internet capable then look at the Tritan, Caliber, and Bliss. Do not get me wrong its a good phone but it depends on what you want to have do for you. Hope this helps.

The crush is a great phone if you are looking to just text and dial. If you would like to use Facebook or even just browse the internet one of the premium phones would be much better suited for it.
