As far as I've been told, Apple did not make the Iphone compatible with USC network. But that is besides the point because reps in the stores are not allowed to activate a phone that isn't branded with USC logo and software. Sorry man, it'd be nice if you could.

Aside from the reps in the store can you change the sim card to other 4g phones? The Iphone 5 by the way has all the bands that would be needed to work. I am pretty sure when I was in West VA I was using their 4g network because My phone said exteneded and sprint is not an option and I get the us cellular operator so the phone is capable of working ( I used to work for them and they will activate phones for other networks just call customer service and lie lol ) Can a sim card be used in other 4g phones with out having to activate it.

US Cellular's 4G is in the 700mhz band, but their particular block isn't compatible with most phone manufacturers. Apple's iphone won't work in that block, so it won't work on US Cellular's network. SIM cards are not swappable with US Cellular either. I know on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile you can swap SIMs and use it in another phone, but not with US Cellular. Each phone has a SIM card programmed to only work with that phone. Seems pretty backwards to me. Just another couple of strikes against USCC vs their competitors.

This is about verizon
Verizon's 3G network employs CDMA technology in both the Cellular (850 MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) bands, and EVDO Revison A 3G data technology in most areas. The company has deployed LTE technology in the upper 700 MHz (750) band for its 4G network, with plans to add LTE in the AWS (1700 MHz) band, and to add native voice capability to its LTE network. Verizon Wireless was formed by the merger of Bell Atlantic Mobile, Vodafone/Airtouch Cellular, GTE Wireless and PrimeCo. Verizon also purchased and absorbed Alltel in 2009.
