Buyout?

Does anything think US Cellular is ripe for a buyout? Their flop of a billing system sure seems like that's where it's all leading to. I think they expected the billing system to save the company, but turns out it's destroying the company. I'm thinking their best bet is to sell now before they lose all their customers. Anyone else?

They will sell if there is anything left of the company. The new billing system is an epic failure. Customer service has become an absolute trainwreck. A once decent little company has imploded...sad to watch.

Lets be honest here---What is there to buy really? If you're Verizon, AT&T Sprint, T-Mobile, why would you buy anything?

Just let them implode, fail, close, you pick up the customers for peanuts.

U.S. Cellular is destroying itself and seems incapable of getting back into the game.

They hired an advertising company that failed (and the new one isn't far behind) they hired McDonalds Mary, they rolled out a plan that had no belief truly behind it, they lied to customers, that's been proven in the last few months. The upper management was like the dog sled team--they followed the leader --and the view never changed. Management didn't listen. The only thing I could think of would be spectrum in the rural areas where US Cellular seems to be the only option. Customers says VZW doesn't work where their US Cellular phone does.
As far as the company as a whole, nothing is going right. Everyone from the Jack Rooney era left at least a year ago (writing on the wall perhaps?), most people from the Mary Dillon era are gone or on their way out. So now they are left with CSRs making $10/hr. and couldn't care less about their jobs. Throw the new billing system into the mix plus bringing back contracts, dropping discounts, adding more fees, etc. It's all downhill from here.

You are exactly right. US Cellular is the only option for most rural people in the Midwest and they know it. Bring back contracts, do away with discounts, raise activation fees, etc. If you don't like it, you don't have any other option(s) for a different carrier. Just don't have a phone? Nobody is going to do that nowadays, so they just suck it up and accept it. If Verizon or AT&T actually cared about the Midwest and put up towers, they would put US Cellular out of business. Until then, USCC is just hanging on by a thread.
