how is the service
At first, the service was local only, so it was a trade-off between no roaming or paying for minute overage fees with traditional carriers. Obviously, local-only service did not suit people who traveled frequently, but for those of us who used a lot of local minutes (perhaps in business), and seldom traveled, it was a reasonable alternative to expensive high-minute plans from traditional carriers (of course, there were no unlimited plans from traditional carriers at that time).
