A Metro pcs phone

Hi. Im new here. Can anyone tell me flat out in English if a MetroPcs phone can be switched over to a cricket service?. 😕 😕

Hi Deardorff,

Simply put, it depends if the phone is unlocked. MetroPCS is a subsidiary of T-mobile and uses the T-mobile cellular GSM network. Cricket is also GSM, but a subsidiary of AT&T. In order for your MetroPCS hardware to work, it would need to be unlocked. If it is not, the answer is probably no.

One thing you can do is check your MEID number with Cricket: https://www.cricketwireless.com/shop/byod.htm l

I believe that if your MEID is locked to another network, this online tool will notify you that your device is not compatible. When I checked the MEID number of my Verizon iPhone 5 when I was thinking of switching to Cricket, the website indicated that my device was compatible. That is because my iPhone 5 with Verizon ...

In flat out English yes if its unlocked. every phone from metro pcs is locked to their network you must get a unlock code from them(free) or you can buy one online/none carrier cell phone store so you can use it on other carriers.

It should. You can ask Metro to give you the SIM lock code if you've had it like 6 months or a year. I don't remember how long exactly you have to have it before they'll unlock it free of charge.
