Now that all is done, will we be charged if we pot out of our Cell One contract early?

I have been waiting out for the Dec 9 date to get the AT&T BB-8310. I avoided the store yesterday here in Alaska as there were people lining up 6 hours before store opening to get their iPhones and wait times were into the hours.

So I went to the store this morning and waited a couple of hours to get served only to be told that the only phone available to me at this time to make the switch to AT&T is the iPhone and I would need to but that phone. They said I could put my name on a list and when other phones are available then they would call me.

I then called CellOne customer service (OHIO) and was told the same thing. He suggested I buy an unlocked 8310 and then go back to cellone to set it up. So I am back where I started and...

The CellularOne site as well as the Dobson.net site are gone now!! They now both redirect you to the AT&T website!!

We were informed yesterday that we could order AT&T phones. However, there was two issues. First, we were given a $1000 limit. WTF?!? We have to basically rebuild our stock and we have a $1000 limit! That's like 5 phones to be split between two locations! We were able to contact our area representative and get it bumped to $8000. Thank God! Then, we were limited on the phones we could order. AT&T has 40+ phones on its line up, but we could only choose from 10. I understand that the iPhone is a COR only device, but come on. Cell One's line up is so limited, that 10 phones is just about all they have, but AT&T has way more than what they gave us to choose from. Anyways, maybe they will make more available over time. When I arrived this morning, I had a package waiting for me. It was from AT&T. I opened it up like a child on Christmas morning to find the LG CU720 AKA The Shine. Wow! This phone looks awesome. Unfortunately, I only have the display model and cannot test it out, but if the inside matches the outside (and if it is as good as my old CU500), it should be an amazing phone.

Everyone in the NY area and myself have found it entertaining for hours to read your posts. They are single handedly the most illiterate and profoundly dumb statements we have seen in a long long time. I think you should focus less on being a "gangster" and more on applying for unemployment. Mostly because the at&t wireless call centers and tech support departments are more than large enough to handle the relatively small influx of customers Dobson will bring. Secondly because at&t most likely requires a higher standard of grammar and personality in their employees.

So has anybody heard anymore news about the acquisition? I was just wondering because I went to CellOne's website and there was an AT&T logo on there and that takes you to another website that explains the merger, but it's not too in depth. I was wondering if anybody else heard anything like when they would start changing stores over, not when all the stores would all be changed over by.

Hey guys - I am hoping you can help me.

I am a cell one customer in Alaska and am getting pressure from my work to get a Blackberry. I would be getting a partner line and unlimited data and still keeping my current phone. After looking at the different models I think I'd prefer the 8310 over the 8800. I figure I have 3 options:

1) Buy the 8800 if it will be better to get locked into cell ones BB data plan?
2) Hold out to get the 8310 through AT&T (are their plans any better or worse?) What date could that happen - December 9?
3) Buy an unlocked 8310 now through ebay and get cell one sim card. Will this work?

That is the scheduled date for AT&T's takeover. Area representatives are going to training around the 15th or 17th and the rest of us in our area are going later in the month.

How well do they work with our sim cards, if they work at all?

I have a friend from HS who works for cellone,he says that At&t will offer all unlimited cellone customers the option to change or opt out with no penalty,but they def will not honor any unlimited plans,anyone else hear this?

Don't mean to sound hateful to y'all mofos, but please STOP speculation on when this merger deal s**t is going to close. I mean, damn, we all know it's going to happen. Just let it ride out. That way, ain't no one's hopes all crushed and whatnot because someone said such-and-such date that it's gonna happen, "I have reliable resources", etc. We all know "reliable" resources do just that. Rely on liars time and time again. I could give a f**k less when it happens. All I wanna know is what will become of certain departments on the call center level when it all starts to unravel.
