You could use a postpaid service to do the same thing, but that involves a credit inquiry. If you aren't going to really use the service then it's not worth having the inquiry over since you can use a prepaid alternative.
forget sprint/nextel! just call boosmobile directly and tell them you want to "Migrate" you sprint/nextel number to boostmobile.
note that is NOT a "port" because it's the same provider
IF you want to go from CDMA Sprint to iDEN Boostmobile do as suggested by some - port to a prepaid and THEN port to Boost.
