T-mobile MDA for existing customers

Hi...I am an existing T-mobile customer looking to buy the MDA. Can I buy it from T-mobile without renewing my contract (currently I am six months into my contract). If so how much will they sell it for. I know you can buy them on ebay but I want to buy direct from T-mobile.

thanks

SDA funkyness

I tried using the SDA for a few days and I thought it was OK. It's way better to have a laptop. I tried to sync it with my apple and it's a pain in the @$$. T-Mobile has no support for apple whatsoever, however Apple has support for sync-ing their computers with any cell phone, but they can't guarentee that SDA will be an effective wifi card/modem for my laptop. So I just bought an airport card and I'm way happier.

The wifi features on the SDA were pretty cool, other than that if you have a laptop you're better off. I switched back to my Nokia 3220 and it rocks.

I don't know if you guys noticed but everyone seems to be dumping their MDA's and SDA's and getting Nokias. Maybe it's because NOKIAS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4th quarter subscriber mix for T-mobile USA

i did this for the other carriers so might as well do it for T-mobile and i will be mentioning their 4th quarter 2005 subscriber mix.

total sub adds= 1.388 million
consists of postpaid= 912,000
consists of prepaid= 476,000
consits of reseller= 0 (not reported)

so as you can see t-mobile USA did quite well for the year however for this 4th quarter 2005 they were last in total net adds, but 2nd in postpaid, and 2nd in prepaid, they didnt report any resellers.

(4 carriers used)

Go Nokia!

Hey all, I'm a big Nokia fan and I work for T-Mobile, not to bash on the other brands cuz I know they all have their strengths and weaknesses, but I think Nokia makes the best, simple, longest lasting phones with the best signal. I still think the 3595 is one of the best cell phones ever.

Anyways, there was a Nokia rep here in my store (I work for corporate) and he told me about the new Nokias that are to come:

6103
6030
6133
6136
8801
N73

These are supposed to be out during this year, he had no specifics of when, where, why or how, but these are the main ones, plus there might be another two or three more. I'm glad they're making a comeback!

Calling all dealers to stand up to T-Mobile

Since March of 2004 T-Mobile has systematically reduced our gross profit and is not providing a profitable business model to sell their products.

Post paid activations are down 25% nationwide.

Prepaid activations are up 346% nationwide.

T-Mobile sold more post paid activations in 2004 compared to 2005.

In 2004 $39.99 plan was 56% of our business. Now family plans are 52% of our business and the $39.99 is only 18%. The change in what we sell is a negative 8.2% Gross Profit.

Only 20% of all credit applications qualify for a plan.

32% are smart access and 48% are deposit customers.

Corporate stores sell 4 upgrades to every 1 new activation.

IT IS TIME FOR THE ENTIRE INDIRECT CHANNEL TO STAND UP FOR THEMSELVES AND TELL T...

SK3 in March

Let me tell you guys a secret. I work in T-mobile dealership and Rep came by one day with a delivery. The delivery isn't important but I asked her whether or not the Sidekick 3 was a rumor or not. Obviously it's not. Then i asked her when they're planning on coming out with it. She told me sometime in March! Now I don't know whether her words have any credibility but my boss said the same thing. So if you guys see the SK3 coming out in March all I can say is "I told you so".. 🙂
