Alltel vs. Sprint

49ways

Feb 28, 2008, 5:11 PM
Ok, I just posted a few days ago because I'm thinking of switching to Alltel, but Sprint's new plans have me reconsidering switching back to them. I had them for a while (with no problems at all) and went to Metro PCS to save money (I was always going over my minutes).

My question to all you brainiacs: who offers better coverage as far as voice calls go? I hear Alltel's coverage is better in rural areas, but I'm in a major metro city. I also hear Alltel's coverage is better indoors. Please help me decide!

alltel needs to respond with an unlimited plan SOON. I understand that you can add on lines for $10-$20 dollars. But people want flexability. There is just something to the word unlimited. Most won't even use that many but for $99 unlimited I would go with sprint.
If alltel offered this in Cleveland OHIO I would stay with alltel 🙄

Alltel beats Sprint for voice coverage 98 percent of the time.

Where are you?

Alltel roams primarily on Sprint in Atlanta. But then uses Verizon where they aren't.

They have a network just south of Atlanta covering all Georgia but not in the main city.....

If you got service you would run off Sprint and verizon, it would not cost you anymore. But you would have a "roaming" indicator. But it's free roam. And you would have to have an address in an area served by Alltel.

That map is of the licenses. They don't have a license to operate in the white colored counties. But do in the blue.
