I didn't think i would like it because of those reasons, but you can turn off the car sounds, and it has some decent ringtones. I don't really care that it is and older phone. I got it for a good price, and new, and the fasTap keyboard sounds fairly blingin'. And it came out 1 1/2 years ago, and they've kept it in the store til about 6 months ago
