Alltel and Hue....

I had a question for you people that work for Alltel. Every time I'm in the store the reps pimp the Samsung Hue as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Since I know better, and that it is just an average phone......

Why? Is there greater commission for that phone or something? I seriously overheard someone recommend the BB Pearl, then compare it to the Hue like it was equal.....

No, I actually don't make very much off of it at all. Based on our company's structure, I'd actually make more selling the LG 275 than most phones. The reason the Hue gets pimped is because there are very few issues with it. Meaning we don't have to deal with XBMs and DOAs, unlike the LG 8600, which is a whole different story...

We don't make any more off a Hue than a Snap or 275. the guy is correct in saying it's simply a good overall phone, and it's being pushed as Alltel's "staple" phone ... like everyone did with the Razr, but the units are on opposite sides of the quality spectrum.

I never see a problem w that phone. I think I've seen 2 xbms done on that phone since it came out at our location. I, personally just say its a great phone cus that what customers are telling us. Great reception, battery life...and it has alot of the same features of phones that are 50-100 dollars more. Bout time we get a good phone. I hate the lg 8600, the e815, and all other p.o.s' we've had in the past.

Tell me about it! I actually liked the E-815 though....exept for the charging port on it. Our store has been selling alot of thenew LG scoops. I have never had to DOA a Hue though, and I did have to DOA two Pearls just last week. Select buttons quit working and the other would just freeze up. Wonder what will be next?

The Hue is simply a solid, high-quality midrange phone. It gets stellar reception, has a long battery life, and does everything the average mobile phone user would need their phone to do. Plus, when it's free or close to free on new activations in most stores, you can't go wrong.

Yeah I understand that.

But why would they then compare it to a pearl....which is a different beast in many different ways. Plan wise, features wise, etc.

Anyway. I understand recommending it for a good solid new basic phone. But when the ones in the two stores i have been to talk about it they act like it has better reception then every phone they have (which it doesn't).

Anyway doesn't matter. Just wondering if there was any other reasons behind the pushing of it.

Wonder if the Muse will live up to being the next one....
