I am sorry but I can not help myself. This is a response by Ducati427 in another string of this forum. This in a nutshell is what is wrong with you people. I copied this letter for letter. Ducati427 wrote:

How about u do that and get off our forums, i love when all peeps come on here to do is bitch about coverage and how they are going to leave alltel for another carrier, shut up and do it already, and leave us b

Now isn't that wonderful. The last time I checked a forum was the property of it's creator. In this case it is Phone Factor, LLC. It is a forum open to the public. If you people share his opinion then what are you doing in here ?... To offer information and advise is great. Even if an argument breaks out...

One of the reasons you get such harsh welcome on this forum is because there are a lot of people that post here that don't know anything about wireless (not saying that is you, its' others). And they either a) work for another carrier and are doing their best to trash alltel or b) immature carrier fan boys who trash Alltel (saying mine is better, etc). All of which are trolls. It's a real problem with phone scoop in particular.

In the future the best way to go about a conversation when posting in a carriers forum on phone scoop is not to bash the carrier outright. There are always extenuating circumstances and you may only have one side of the story, etc. I know it's not easy to do, but given the climate of ridiculous posters on phone sc...

Okay... 1 more...
Now that was a well written, informnative reply. Well worthy of another one. I apologize for coming off that way. Please understand that this was both my and my good friends first experience with Alltel Prepaid. We had no idea how the system was supposed to work. All we knew was she tried the convenience of the online airtime purchase one time (correctly I might add) and inside of a week... BANG... It cost her $300 for $10 purchase. Rather the phone had been manipulated or not who knows but regardless a faulty phone purchased from Alltel had the ability to unsecurely interact with the automated system ofering free phone service to anyone who could request it. That has now been documented as a fact. We knew that from the be...

I'm not Alltel I don't work for them or anything...

And i don't see where you've proven me wrong. But maybe you have somewhere. I was mistaken about the not having an account thing in order to add money but other then that...

And of course it could be some fault in the system. But 9 times out of 10 it is user error, etc. That's the nature of I.T.

If the issue is repeatable and you demonstrate this to an alltel employee in person then they hold some responsibility for at. Are they at fault for it entirely? No. But that doesn't matter. Credit card fraud is a huge business. People perpetrate it everyday at stores. Many times the stores, regardless of security can be over taken by a only slightly more then simple trick. All they do is ...

Thank you Sir;
You're professionalism is head and shoulders above the rest in here. I know that you're not an alltel employee and I didn't mean to sound like I was attacking you as if you were.
But I can tell, that you are an expert in your trade and you are appreciated. Honestly, Alltel is aware of this freakish event. They also assured me that they would take the proper measures and try to keep this incident from repeating itself. That was accomplished in one day in a matter of a couple of hours. So you see I knew that what I was talking about was all ready proven fact. I was merely just trying to get these jerks (you are excluded) in here to stop and realize that something like this is possible. You are the only one to even acknowledg...
