LG Scoop

We have the LG scoop. I am having a lot of trouble getting the ringtones I downloaded to work as ringtones. They just download as regular music files. However my sister sent me a ringtone and I saved it to my phone. And it works as a ringtone. How do I get the files from my MicroSD to download to the phone? Thanks

This is directly off the Alltel internal employee handset profile page in reference to your issue:

Customers will not be able to set audio files downloaded through Bluetooth, MMS, SD card, or voice memo as a ringtone. Ringtones can be purchased through Axcess Shop, Axcess Web, and Alltel.com. This functionality has been limited to protect your device from corrupt or harmful content. This is NOT a handset issue.

Hope that help!

From my understanding Alltel will not release any new phones that are not locked for ringtones. The days of making our own ringtones are over... The only phone Alltel carries at this point that is still able to bluetooth ringtones is the Krazr for a limited time until the old ones are gone and the new ones with the new software are out.

Hope this helps!

lol. It does suck that Alltel's software limits your ring tone choices on standard handsets, but it does make the company a TON of money. $1.99 PER SONG is average Axcess Shop type dl's, whereas that will buy you a whole cd off something like mp3search.ru
Nothing beats File Explorer/Storage Card/Set As Ringtone. heh.
