Insurance Replacement

This is for all the reps out there that might know. Is it possible to file an insurance claim and not necessarily get the same phone that you already have? I have the Samsung u520, which I got as an insurance replacement for another phone before. I don't like it and I want to get something different. I used to have that Kyocera slider phone, and I want another slider, but when I got the replacement last time, they gave me this samsung phone. I know, you're all gonna say I got a better deal with this phone than the one I used to have, but I just don't like it. I'm just not crazy about flip phones, never have been. Is there anything I can do? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

you may get the samsung r500-a flip. Not really sure. you can call the insurance company, and if you don't like the model they are going to replace it with then tell them to forget it. Asurion is 1.888.723.3360
There is always ebay!

I did what you said and called Asurion. They were very good about working with me and offered me serveral options. They offered my the LG ax8600, the LG Muziq and the Moto ROKR, which is more options than I was expecting to get. Thank you.

Go with the Rokr. It's a slider and has been a great phone for me. The 8600 is a crappy phone with tons of issues and the Muziq is rather ugly as well.

Good call the_guy. I already went with the Rokr, as it seems like the best one out of the three. My main question and concern with the Rokr for now, can you make and set your own ringtones on it?

On mine I can, but if it's one that was shipped after February it likely won't be able to. I'm not sure if ringtones you make using Motorola Phone Tools would still work or not. The lockdown on free ringtones kind of sucks a lot.
