headaches galore trying to get my affinity discount through alltel...
left verizon and started my service with alltel on may 1st. bought my curve and plan straight from an affinity rep associated with my job (20% off my rate plan, waived activation, etc). i was told at the time of purchase that blackberry owners would not receive the discount as those on smart choice plans are not eligible at that time. i was told that if i changed my plan then i would be eligible and all would be ok since i ordered the phone and service through her directly. everything seemed fine until a few weeks ago when i changed my 500 minute smart choice plan to a 900 minute national freedom plan coupled with the LG glimmer and was denied the 20% affinity discount. now the rep informs me that my contract clearly states that i am LOCKED ...

1. It's very simple, cancel your plan and phones within the 14 or 30 day window that they gave you and there will be no problem.
2. If you have waited until past that time, call online customer service often until someone gives it to you. I find Alltel very flexible and considerate of it's customers and they have almost always given me what I wanted. Once in a great while I had to call back but very rarely.
3. I find that as long as I spend a decent amount with Alltel - I have two phones and am on the family plan with axcess unlimited, axcess minutes on one of the phones, my monthly bill runs around 150, they pretty much always take care of me.
