WAP / Web Browser

This feature means that the phone contains web browser software that will let you access the web.

Some very old phones with this feature can only display special "WAP" pages specifically designed for older phones.

See: WAP

Newer phones can display full / regular web sites, although how well the page fits on the display varies depending on the browser software and display size.

Many web sites offer a different layout optimized for phones when viewed with a phone. However these sites still use the same standards and technologies as all web sites.

The web can be accessed over any type of data connection that reaches the Internet. The cell phone network is most commonly used with phones (with 4G and 5G providing faster service) but short-range options such as Wi-Fi can be used as well.
