L4S

Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable throughput

A networking technology designed to improve latency (delay) of time-sensitive data sent across the internet.

It measures latency continuously, so it can continuously adjust the volume of data being sent to the maximum that will not create noticeable latency, given current network conditions.

This requires an application that can adjust the data rate on the fly, such as a video stream that can adjust the resolution and/or compression of the video and audio data.
