What do you think will happen
This situation may have been discussed here previously, been given the state of Android and its increasing fragmentation, I would like to hear some thoughts on this issue. The reason I've been thinking about this stems from my own company (Sprint's) decision to install Sprint ID on a few of their smartphones. It seems like the next logical step is for some companies to create apps that only work on a select number of their devices. Is this the future of our beloved platform?
Also, Google's "basic" android phones, the Nexus series, seems to be a big hit.
This holds true for every carrier, they all have some apps that only work if you have that phone with their service.
And it even goes one step further with some, AT&T locked side loading of apps (only market apps allowed) on all their Android devices until recently.
I don't think it is a big deal, at all. Carriers will always want something special to give them an edge or better serve their customer base. So long as these apps never become more broad, like a game that can only be played with a T-Mobile phone sort of thing, there is no reas...
