I have heard that the G2 will get gingerbread soon I am wanting to know if that's correct or not

Looking for two different live wallpapers - wondering if anyone had ever heard of something like it.

First, a live wallpaper that has a line of RSS scrolling on a portion of it. It would be sweet to just have news updates, status updates, market quotes, etc... scrolling in the back without the need of a widget or app.

Second, a live walpaper of a transparent engine running. Thought that would be pretty sweet.

Any thoughts?

Verizon told me to use the task killer app to prolong the life of my battery for my Thunderbolt. The tech said in the settings there was a frequency setting ie every two hours every one hour etc. Anyone know how to find that? Or any other ideas about saving the battery? I have the extended battery and sometimes get only about 8 to 10 hours.

Im reading this on a lot of droid x roms.

will be released last quarter of the year and doesn't have any hardware requirements. Definitely surpasses 2.3 & 3.0 versions. I'm excited 😁

Now my question is what are some of the better roms? Ive already noticed there are not as many available as there were on the D1. Ive tried Liberty already, and Darkslide is my next one I want to try.

It says at least need to be on 2.3.32 to install. What does this mean and where do I see if I'm on it or not? and what are the benefits of it?

I feel really silly for this question, but I have a Samsung Acclaim phone with U.S. Cellular and the gallery app seems to be either an older version or something USC possibly setup. It's very basic, doesn't even include basic swipe left/right to go through pictures. It is currently running Android 2.2.

Is there any way to get the actual stock android gallery app at this point? Or am I stuck with this crippled version? And I'm aware there are gallery apps on the marketplace but I've never found a decent one.

My upgrade is due in a week or so and I cannot decide on the Incredible 2 or the Droid X2 (If it comes out on the 12th.)

I had my eyes set on the X2, but mostly unsure because there is no official news about the damn thing that I can see. Hopefully someone on here has found something that I didn't about it.

I have the Droid 1 and been happy with it. I'm too impatient for the Droid 3 (Whenever that comes out as well) and I think I'll be happy with a virtual keyboard.

The drivers from Samsung make function spotty at best despite the fact that my USB port checks out fine, anyone have any idea what else there is to be done?

I recently came across this really cool live wallpaper called Jumpgate free. It has an Android wearing a jetpack flying through space dodging meteors, it's very, very cool! ! !

If I'm correct I believe it came out yesterday,...but I didn't d/l it til today.

Thus far, I am kinda dissapointed. The read articles and the videos are mixed in with each other, I think they should be seperated. As they are in the FOX NEWS app, there is a tab for Articles, and a tab Videos.

Also, it would have been nice if there was a tab for Shows. Such as the one with Ellioyt Spitzer. American Morning. Their just random videos.

Of course I will keep the app, right along sided the MSNBC.com, and FOX NEWS apps, for a variety of news and so on.

Well, it's just the beginning, likely the app will get updated and so on.

I am kinda curious how the offical CNN Android app compares to the one they made for the Iphone.

anyone have any ideas how to back up the cache and data from applications before a factory reset? backing up levels of angry birds in particular...

I am looking into upgrading my BBStorm with VZW. IF you take the 4g out of the equation AND take the 4.3" vs 4" screen size out of the equation: How do the phones compare?

I am leaning torward the Inc2 b/c I don't really care for the 4G nor the screen (heck, I may even prefer the larger screen). The thing is that it seems now you can get a TB CHEAPER than the DInc2! Any reason to pick one vs the other??

and its amazing. the new UI is great, the new keyboard is better, and so far i have noticed an increase in battery life. also i like the way the screen turns off. (lame i know but still)

anyone else get a chance to play with the gingerbread goodness?
