The secrets of Android!

As you all know, Androids are cool and they are a little hard to understand. So this is a tutorial to training and taming your Android. I got an Android that looks a lot like C3PO off of Star Wars.

You need to speak the language of the Androids to them. Repeat as follows: beep beep boop dee bee bee boop

This will get their attention, the rough translation is "your mom was a nasty old washing machine that had no friends and when cloths went into that machine they came out more filthy when they went in, we might be able to find your mom in a junk yard but who would want that old rusty bag"

Your Android will be most upset by this so be sure to repeat the following as fast as you can: beep beep beep beep boop whistle beep dee dee beep

Going to throw this droid through the wall, help.

So I bought the Motorola Droid for my girl a few months ago and she's been somewhat happy, but I always wondered why she complained so much about the camera and gallery.

I don't wonder any more.

I need someone to help me fix the stupid bug in the gallery App that forces you to delete a photo and "trick" the gallery into refreshing before showing you pictures you JUST TOOK.

It's driving me absolutely insane. The camera takes brilliant photos (if you can keep the subject being photographed still long enough for the shutter to snap) but this one little issue irks me to no end.

Help. Please.

Questions about android

So I was thinking of switching to an android phone from my wm phone and I just want to make sure it can do everything I need. So my questions are: I dont have broadband where I live so I download big files on my phone then transfer them to my puter can I do this with an android phone? Will it download any type of file? Can I choose where to save it to? Can I view and extract rar and zip files on the phone? Can I view all files on the storage card even if they are not android files? Can I watch any type of video file? Is there a torrent client app? I think thats pretty much it. Thanks

Using Gameshark with Gameboid

For anybody who has been wondering, this is how it is done;

1. Ensure that you have a PC emulator for the same system as the game you play on your phone. For Gameboid, the VBAdvance is a good option.

2. Connect your phone to your PC via USB, put phone in Mass Storage mode.

3. COPY your ROM and it save file to your PC, in a folder of its own. Make sure that the ROM and save file are in the same folder together. Also, do NOT use a 'Save State' file, use an actual in-game save file.

4. Change the extension of the save file to '.sav'. Once again, this does NOT work for 'Save State' files.

5. Load ROM from phone on the PC. The game should load normally. Insert any Gameshark or other memory-editting codes you'd like, and then save t...

VBAdvance App; linking games?

Does anybody who uses the VBA app for Android know if there is a way to 'link' games for multiplayer, like the physical GBA used a link-cable? Whether it's a cord or wireless, this would help immensly.

US CELLULAR GETTING 2 ANDROID PHONES

I work for US Cellular and have seen the phones that we are getting and one is the Samsung Acclaim (Exclusive to USCC) and the other is the HTC Desire which is VERY comparable to the HTC incredible the only difference being the Desire is a little wider than the Incredible and has a 5MP camera with autofocus and flash -vs- Incredible that has 8MP camera with dual LED flash and autofocus.

Google HTC Desire and Incredible and Compare the specs for yourself.

Should be getting the Samsung Acclaim in June and The HTC Desire in July sometime.

Which widgets do you use and why?

Since the 2.1 update hit my Eris, I've been far more inclined to use widgets. As such, I thought that it might be interesting to start a thread solely about widgets to see which ones everyone here uses, as well as why they use them.

If you know right off hand, then try to include information about the available dimensions for each widget, measured in tiles. (In other words, since one home screen is a 4x4 grid, then a widget that takes up the entire with of the screen and half of its height is a 4x2 widget.) Also, please state which Android version you use, preferably including your device model.

As I mentioned previously, I'm using an HTC Droid Eris that's running Android 2.1. Here are the widgets that I'm using at the moment...
