Near2Me (Places) is a Free Windows Phone app that helps to locate any sort of place you are looking for in a single touch.

The app provides six categories by default, which are, Shopping, Banking, Restaurant, Medical, Fuel and Leisure.
All you need to do is select your category and list all nearby places with contact details. Say, for e.g. you would like to find all restaurants/pubs that are nearby to your locality.

It is always difficult for us to search the number from mobile when we are in a Emergency situation. Now, Contus has introduced a new application called "emergency calls" app, in which there are emergency contacts that is categorized.
We can add numbers for a particular category, make calls from the app and also update/edit emergency contacts according to your city/country.

Has anyone tried installing the 8107 Update for Windows Phone yet on their HTC Arrive? Just wondering how it went, and if it's worth it.

I recently started a software development company, in partnership with my brother and father. We primarily develop Windows Apps. We are currently looking into the possibility of moving towards being able to offer our potential clients mobile apps. As such, we are exploring which mobile platform will be most beneficial for us to learn how to develop in.

So, our question is, which mobile platform (iOS, Android, Windows) will grow the most in the next twelve months?

I have the pleasure of getting my hands on a Lumia 900 on wednesday. I have to say I am very impressed with the way the phone feels. Not only does WP7.5 operate at very steady pace in all aspects, the screen makes everything look great also. The way simple apps look like facebook, and foursquar looks so much better on WP7.5 versus android or Iphone. Everyone due for a upgrade needs to take a look and consider this phone.

Have used HP pda's / windows OP sys. before smart phones. Insist any carrier I use has PC based phones. Have over 2000 tasks in Outlook on my pc. Same docs sync. over 2 my smartphone. Tasks is all words in docs search able. MS word & other word processors only come up on a search if the word or phrase is in the title of the doc. MS sync is set up so that changes made during the day on the PC or the phone ... the task docs combine the data entries made on either machine in a given doc. Have not been with Verizon because of their lack of PC based phones. Hv test driven I phone and Droids. Neither will sync more than contacts and some calender items even with expensive work arounds. Off site exchange services like drop box, G-mail, cloud etc ...

Cany I change the operating system Windows mobile 7 to a Windows Mobile 6.5 on my LG Quantum c900? Okay, normally this would be crazy to do. People pay more money for the latest operating system. But I already bought this phone but did NOT realize that the key programs and files I wanted to load and use on the phone do NOT work on Windows 7 but only any of the older versions. So what to do now? Can't return the phone. Would lose money to resell since already out of box and used.

That did not take very long at all. I can now tether via USB on my samsung focus. 😎

I think you definitely should if the device works well. I'd bought this handset in may 2010. The screen use to freeze once in a while, but since yesterday it is stuck on the same screen. No matter what you do, I took the batteries out tried rebooting the phone but still the same result. More over the HTC folks have a lousy policy and customer service. When I called them up today the lady over the phone first had me run couple of reset steps but the device didn't budge, any way after being on the phone for 1/2 hour she transferred me to the another department.
