LG4400/6000 question
am thinking about getting either LG 4400 or LG 6000, but I am uncertain about the following. After doing my research, I found out that both phones have an unusual desktop charger (not the usual kind, which you just plug in). My question is then, is it possible to talk on the phone while it is being charged?

i don't know about the 6000, but i have the 4400 and if the 6000 has the same desktop charger, then no, you cannot talk on the phone when it's charging. you can, however, purchase a travel charger which plugs into the bottom of the phone, similar to a car charger for the phone. that would allow you to talk on it. hope that helps.

umm... i dont know what you are talking about.. i owned the 4400 and talked on it nightly on the desktop charger.. and i currently own the 6000 and i also have had that on the desktop charger and talked on it.. go with the 6000! its better! has way better battery life.. i use about 2000 peak and 3000 offpeak and about 3800 txt msgs a month! the phone i great! my 4400 had to be swaped out 3 times.. e-mail me if you have questions... verizonvx4400jd@yahoo.com

i have the desktop cradle charger for the 4400. so unless you hold the phone AND charger up to your ear, i don't think you can talk on it while it's charging.

yea thats what i am talkin about... both the phone and the charger! 😲

you can definetly used your phones while on the charger, though it will be a little odd you can flip the phone open to answer or make calls. 😁

on the 4400 the earpeice hole is covered so u cant use earpiece while charging or like previously stated hold the whole charger up to your ear 😢

Yep, I've done it. I just flipped it open to answer the call. Had to hold the charger while talking, was a bit bulky, but can be done! 😁

not with the desk top charger, you can speak on it while using the travel charger

unless you need the analog capability - go with the 6000 - very cool phone!!!

on the 6000 just put in on the charger and have your earpiece pluged in, doesnt work on the 4400 that way though

First of all, it is never recommended that you talk on the phone while it is plugged in at the bottom of the phone. Using it while plugged in runs the risk of damage to the connection port. With that said, YES you can use a 4400 or 6000 while it is on its "cradle" charger. It actually causes no harm or risk to the connetion port b/c it does not contact in that manner.
