ghost headset after water exposure
I have a Nokia 6800 which was recently accidently exposed to water. Since then (about a week ago), it believes it has a headset plugged in, even though it doesn't. I have tried several trips to reboot the phone to fix it.
It's possible something inside hasn't dried out set, but I'm looking for advice about what to do. Otherwise the phone seem to work just fine.
(I also tried plugging and unplugging a real headset, and checking headset preferences).
Thanks!
Mark

Im guessing that it has passed its warrantee, no insurance that sort of thing. Have you tried opening it up? Blow drying it? More likely than not since it happened a week ago something has shorted out. Take it to a repair center. If your in California there are a whole bunch of places that would do a general cleaning for about $30.
Good luck.

I do have insurance on the phone, but the cost of the phone (from Ebay) is about as much as my $50 deductible to replace it...). I tried to open it, but it intentionally uses some uncommon hex head shape for which tools are not easily available.
I'm in Richmond, Indiana and am not sure how to find a repair center close by. A $30 cleaning may be as cheap a solution as I can find.
Thanks for your (super-fast!) help.
