Bluetooth HS850 compatibility concern

i have a V3 and i bought the new HS850(euro model) and it is bluetooth V1.2 Supposedly it is better because it allows for frequency hopping to avoid interference, better power mgmt, etc...but the V3 is V1.1 Is there a way to update my phone bluetooth to the new version? And could i use the Y power splitter to power both my phone and the headset...i know you can for the Hs810

all vresions of bluetooth are compatable

next time however buy the headset that you know is compatable
