you need a usb transfer cable and the motorola mobile tools, but the prob is..when u do it from your computer tothe phone the mp3 becomes compressed and is of low quality..anyone know of a way to keep it the original quality?

Ok, here's what you do. Sign up for paid T-Zones (5.99 per month.) Go to walmart.com or similar site which gives 30-second previews of the songs it sells. Right click on the link to one of the mp3's and click "Properties" or whatever corresponds to that if you're not using Firefox. Copy the URL of the mp3 file. Next, log on to My T-Mobile and send yourself the URL in a text message from the website (it's under Communication Tools.) Open up the SMS on your phone, press Menu, and select Goto. T-Zones will launch and beging downloading the mp3. It's a bit slow and you will have to rename the file, but this will work on any Moto.

Well, I'm saddened to say that the Walmart Freeloading has come to an end. 😢 But not to worry... hope is NOT lost. It IS true that you can spend money on a usb cable and motorola phone tools and get a pretty mediocre-sounding ringtone. However, here's what I do....

I find a song I like, I open it with Acid 4.0 (Sound editing software) and I then clip it to about 30secs. since that's the amount of time the phone rings before going to voicemail. Once that's done, I save it as an MP3 file.

Here comes the best part.... Instead of spending close to $50 on Motorola.com I spent about $30 at Fry's Electronics.... You see, I bought a usb bluetooth adapter. It's UNIVERSAL and CHEAPER!!! Way, way, much better than the Phone Tools Kit. So ...
