In my experience, a notebook's USB port doesn't put out a whole lot of power...... it may not even be enough to charge the phone.

Generally, USB hubs take a 5V power supply running about 0.3A..... the Moto chargers I have seen all run about 0.5A - 0.7A depending on which model you have. I really don't think it will work.

I've done it but let me tell you the charge is very slow... It works better off a PC... yes you do need the software which I have seen however I don't know how or where to get it...

Download the drivers from here:

http://mirror.softcox.com/downloads/pafiledb.php?act ... »

This file is compressed WinRAR format. You'll need to install WinRAR to extract the contents if you don't already have it.

When you plug your phone in and it asks for the software browse to where ever you extract the files.

Once the drivers are installed your phone will charge via the USB cable.

I charge both my RAZR V3 and iPod via laptop USB with no problem.
