Verizon Razr V3c: reprocible security flaw

I can finally post the sequence of events that will result in the Unlock Screen being bypassed on the Razr V3, offering the user a fully unctional phone without having to enter the phone's passcode. This assumes you have passcode protection on your phone:
1. Turn the device off.
2. Send the device an SMS message.
3. After waiting long enough that message to get to your device, turn the device back on.
4. When the Unlock Screen displays, don't enter anything. Just wait until the SMS message arrives.
The phone will now be unlocked with no user imput. This works with all software versions for this phone.

sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is an SMS message? Also, will this help us return our v3c in exchange for the v3m? 🙂

A small email message sent to your device via the device's email address:
nnnnnnnnnn@vtext.com
where nnnnnnnnnn is your cell phone number.

oh wow - Im really stupid, I didnt even know you can send emails as text messages this way. thanks for the info!
now, I have unlimited txt, pix, flix messaging...is this included or am I going to get charged each time someone text messages me from their email account??

It'll count as text message. Sounds like you have that covered already.
