v710 durability and one quirk that i cant understand

I got a V710 yesterday, and I must day that this is a big step up from the t720 (well what isnt right) I like the phone and my 128mb transflash is in the mail coming tue or wend. Anyways the first thing I worry about is the phone's durability. I am not one of the "insure your phone" persuasion, so i need would like to know how well the phone has held up to your daily dings and bumps you encounter (as i tend to carry mine in my pocket, i dont do the phone holster thing, nor do i put on leather protection)? I would also like to know how solid the keypad is, in that i have a habit of pressing firmly (not really hard but more than normal if you can quntify that, when im in a hurry that is, not all the time) on the keys.

Finally After I picked...

v710 camera zoom

Why does the zoom just make the picture smaller?

It just cuts the resolution in half, the only time it magnifies is when the resolution is set to 640x480 and the magnification is at 2x.

WHAT VZW REP TOLD ME ABOUT BLUETOOTH

Dear ****,

Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless website. As part of our Worry

We are happy to assist you with your Motorola V710 Bluetooth question.

Currently, Verizon Wireless only allows the following Bluetooth functions on the

- Dial-Up networking

Contact syncing, file sharing, and any other Bluetooth functions outside of the

Need a bit of info on transflash.

I couldn't seem to find out if the transflash that buy.com or amazon.com sell are packaged with an SD adaptor. I was particularly interested in the 64mb found in buy.com

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10375563&l ... »

can anyone tell me if this card is sent with an SD adaptor (as it should but i cant find any info on the page to confirm that) or is it OEM thing?

fixing the mpt using v710

dudes, this is a solution i have for mpt and the v710, if you have the mpt cd and an original motorola usb cable, try this if your mpt doesn't recognize the phone correctly

1- uninstall the mobile phone tools
2- restart the pc
3- install the mpt from the cd rom, when you finish installing the mpt, choose NOT TO launch the mpt.
4- go to www.bvrp.com> oem > on the search engine type MOTOROLA and do not choose a location > click on the first hit of the result > download the upgrade > download the 2.21b
5- after you finish downloading the 2.21b, run the upgrade and then open the mpt.
6- after everything is finally installed, do a master reset on the v710 (menu>settings>initial setup>master reset> for the security code you have to press t...

Buy Beware Motorola's so called warranty

I purchased an unlocked Motorola 878, which broke three weeks after the purchase. I sent the phone to the Motorola Texas repair center. First they lost the phone then they returned it unrepaired. I have been given several different excuses for Motorola's failure to repair, which includes the following:
(1) The phone was not manufactured in the USA (however, none of the phones are).
(2) The repair is too costly.
(3) The phone was discontinued.
(4) The repair center does not have the parts
(5) Just buy another phone.

To date, Motorola has refused to honor its one year warranty. They have not repaired the phone, replaced the phone or resolved the situtation. During my last call to Motorola, a supervisor just hung up.

IF YOUR CONSIDER...

V400 receiving email attachments

When I send a photo from a pop email account to my phone as an attachment the phone will not download the email. Received: 0 Not Received: 1 is what is displayed on the lcd. If I resize the image to 120 pixels or less I do get the attachment. Is there a resolution size limit or a file size limit when recieving email attachments?

Thanks!

downloading pics w/ v710

Hey, what's up guys? First post, quick question. Picked up the moto v710 last wed from verizon. They don't supply a data cable b/c thet want you to pay extra to email your pics. Motorola makes a compatatble USB data cable, but there's no software currently on the phone that would allow the use of this cable. Anyone aware if it's possible to download pics to and from the phone using this cable? Thanx alot.

Motorola v710 needs some serious fine tuning

Took mine v710 back to VZ. Phone's software needs some fine tuning. Silent mode is not silent: low battery warning beeps anyway.Speaker is very weak. Bluetooth is handicapped. ☹️

A630 vs. Razor

One thing I've always loved about Motorola is that they have external antenna ports - does anyone know if these guys will?

One thing I hate about Motorola phones is that they never have IR!
