HTC Offers More Bootloader Unlocking Tools
HTC recently made the tools that allow users to unlock their device's bootloader available to more smartphones via its developer web side. The new handsets include the Desire HD, Wildfire, Desire Z, T-Mobile G2, Aria, ChaCha, and Status. HTC has already made the same tools available for most of its Android smartphones released since September 2011. Once unlocked, owners will have more freedom to install custom software on their Android smartphones.
Hulu Expands Android Handset Compatibility
Hulu recently updated its Android application making it compatibile with four more handsets. All four are made by HTC, and include the EVO 4G, Droid Thunderbolt, myTouch, and G2. The application is free to download, but Hulu Plus costs $7.99 per month.
Netflix: Now Playing On Android
Netflix today released its streaming video app for select Android phones via the Android Market. The app is only available for a handful of phones that meet strict hardware requirements, including the HTC Incredible, Nexus One, EVO 4G, G2, and Samsung Nexus S. The app supports resuming watching content where you left off watching on your TV or computer. Netflix already offers mobile apps for Apple iOS and Microsoft Windows Phone devices.
