Sony Ericsson Refreshes Lineup

Sony Ericsson today announced four new GSM phones, including their first first quad-band phone and first Walkman phone for the Americas.

  • W600: A swivel-style, tri-band GSM phone for the Americas with Walkman music player, 256 MB of memory, EDGE high-speed data, 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and stereo speakers. Features also include wide-screen gaming mode, 176x220-pixel TFT display, changeable covers, FM radio, and class 10 GPRS. Available in the 4th quarter of 2005.
  • S600: A tri-band swivel-style GSM phone similar to the W600, but without EDGE or the Walkman music player, and 64 MB of memory. Available in Europe/Asia in the 4th quarter of 2005.
  • Z520: This successor to the Z500 clamshell model adds Bluetooth and animated lights around the edges, and steps up to quad-band GSM, a TFT main display, and a larger outer color display. Carryover features from the Z500 include changeable covers, a VGA camera with video capture, and speakerphone. Available 3rd Quarter 2005, including a Z520a version for the Americas.
  • J210: Basic bar-style, tri-band GSM phone for Asia with color display and MMS. Available 3rd Quarter 2005.
