SprintNextel hybrid phone poll
I want to poll everyone out there to see what y'all think. How many Nextel subscribers out there are willing to move to a hybrid phone if it had 800 mhz roaming included? The new hybrid phones have 1900 CDMA roaming ONLY.

to Note... the majority of the Sprint PCS market is covered under 1900Mhz formatting... 800Mhz is typically for low market level coverage (the boonies as some might call it) and is purely Analog... to say it would give better coverage if the hybrid had 800Mhz coverage would be like saying the Razr would be better if it was bigger and bulkier... and had an antenna

PCS covers very little of the United States. Most cellular companies that run CDMA operate in the 800 mhz band. One only needs to look at a coverage map on Sprint.com and compare PCS only vs. other digital roaming. There's no comparison. I won't argue the point about CDMA coverage and frequencies -- that's why my wifes phone is a dual mode digital/analog motorola, so she gets some sort of signal when she's out in the country. But I know a LOT of people who don't believe the comment about the intenna phones (particularly from LG) having better reception...

LG phones aren't that great, period! But that's my opinion. If internal antennas worked as well, Car kits with external antennas would be pointless and never sell.
