Handset earpiece speaker - noise
Hey everyone - another thing I've encountered with my 48 hour use of the U740... when the earpiece volume is turned to its highest setting, sometimes it has a scratching noise (a sound like when you blow across the side of a piece of paper) when people speak. Kind of sounds like the speaker is loose or overpowered ... went back to Verizon wireless and exchanged it twice, and all 3 phones do the same thing. An old motorola I've had used to do it and it went away once I exchanged it. Has anyone else experienced the same problem or know if there's a solution? The verizon tech agrees that it's an annoyance ...

Honestly I have noticed that most phones will start to sound distorted when it is put on the highest volume. Bringing it down one level may do alot of good for the sound as well as the life of your speakers. I normally don't put volume on my phone on highest so I don't notice that problem.

Thanks Irie. This is the earpiece tiny speaker... not the speakerphone speaker. In my previous phones I have not had distortion before, this is the first one (aside from the old Moto that was replaced, and it went away!). Is this just a samsung thing or should I be concerned... (still within my worry-free guarantee period)...?
Thanks!

I have also noticed this but then again, I have owned the 9900 and this happened on that phone as well, I also don't keep the volume up all the way so it sounds good on a level or two down. Besides, if you blast your home stereo or any setreo for that matter I am sure you'll notice some distortion.
