Palm Treo 680

I tried out an AT&T Treo 680 in my Acura RDX. I love the phone except that it gets confused about whether the call should be handled in the phone or with the car's handsfree. After handsfree setup, it seems to work fine. Then when I leave the car and receive a call, I can answer it with the phone, but then it goes to the car (not on or in range). I have to press the handsfree disconnect soft button on the screen. Then it appears to work normally. Later, when I get back in the car, it shows connected to the handsfree. When I receive a call, I can answer it with the handsfree controls, but it immediately goes to the phone.
