Palm Treo 680
680 issues/questions
I have been toying with the idea of a smartphone for a few years... I use my Palm so much, that I figured treo made sense- but I didn't feel like changing carriers (i have tmobile). Finally just saw that the 680 comes unlocked, so I snapped it up.
My first impressions are pretty good, but a few little things
-I kind of miss the palm graffiti- the tiny keyboard is a little hard to type on (and I have small hands)- hopefully it just takes practice.
-I think the fact that you can't use MP3 ringtones without paying for 3rd party software is ridiculous
-I guess I assumed it would have push email like a blackberry, but it doesn't. Bummer.
Haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life, which seems to be common complaint.

im not too geeky so i may have misunderstood your #1 quesionbut i'll take a shot. i just got my 680 3 days ago. when u push the phone button i went into phone display options and changed the default to contacts. when i push the phone button it always goes to the contacts so i can search my adr book.
#2 Ive been tryin 2 figure it out myself. ive re-programmed the rest of the buttons so launch stuff using the option key
#ive had no problems with my text msgs but majoy battery life issue. i'm trying the re-calabration fix and will repeat it a few times to see what occurs. i use my phone a ton and have 2 email accts sync'd for 15 minutes each. i already had to go out to buy a car charger and a 2nd walla charger for work cause my pho...
